I don't know a soul who's not been battered
I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered
Or driven to its knees
Oh, but it's all right, it's all right
For we've lived so well so long
Still, when I think of the road we're traveling on
I wonder what's gone wrong
Paul Simon, American Tune
I should know better, but whenever I see idiotic nonsense online, I cannot help myself; I must respond. Even though I know it is like shouting into a hurricane of ignorance, I try.
I’ve realized this is draining my most important resource: time. So no more. I will laugh privately at the raging idiocy pervasive in this country and hope, behind the curtain of the voting booth, most come to their senses.
I also know the previous President has an inexplicable Svengali-like effect on his devotees. No form of logic, rationality, or evidence to the contrary can dissuade them from their blind commitment to walking off the cliff toward a dictatorship.
Thus, I will state herein in simplest terms why no American—with any commitment to preserving this country—should ever consider voting for a return to the disaster of the previous administration.
Since the moment the polls closed and the votes counted, Mr. Trump and many of his followers have done everything in their power, much of it unlawfully, to overturn the will of the people.
This culminated with January 6th when a sitting President encouraged violence against the Congress and his own Vice President. His actions were cowardly and un-American, and for that reason alone, he should be denied ever holding office.
In the heat of the moment following the event, even some of the President’s most fervent supporters in Congress held him responsible. Yet, today many of those same cowards suffer from amnesia about that moment. Their willful ignorance speaks volumes of their character.
In courtrooms across the country, challenge after challenge of the results claiming massive fraud were found to be fraudulent themselves. Most weren’t just dismissed; they were laughed out of the courtroom.
No challenge ever established the slightest proof that fraud affected the result. NOT ONE.
But don’t take my word for it. Read the book, Disproven by Ken Block (https://www.amazon.com/Disproven-Unbiased-Campaign-Improve-Elections-ebook/dp/B0CLL1B5WX). The Trump campaign hired Ken because of his background in data analysis, his standing as a conservative Republican, and, most importantly, his reputation for integrity.
Block’s conclusion: The election result was correct, and there was no evidence of massive fraud at the level necessary to alter it. The book documents areas for improvement to the system but concludes that it still works even in its current form.
Yet on the campaign trail, Mr. Trump continues his claim of election fraud, that January 6th was a staged plot by the government to trap his “peaceful” supporters, and that the entire Department of Justice and many of the state prosecutors have conspired to concoct the 85 or so charges for which he stands indicted.
He is running on a lie promulgated by a lie and supported by those blind to reality.
For those of you who will lash out at this—here’s a hint: I thoroughly enjoy the irrational ravings almost as much as I do when something I write stirs them up—how about you try arguing why anyone should believe a word of a man whose entire career has been based on fraud and deception.
Now that I have that off my chest, I can return to sipping my coffee and using my time for better things, like listening for the sound a jail door slamming shut.

Joe, I watch those interviews with trump supporters or should I say followers and I know deep down they know they are wrong and have made a mistake, but they are too stubborn or ignorant to know how to admit it.
