Let’s review. The best MAGA Republicans (MAGAblicans) have so far is a selectively false narrative about Tim Walz’s retirement from the National Guard (to summarize, an Honorable Discharge after twenty-four years of service) and a second false narrative about tampons.

Science doesn’t care if you believe in it…

That’s where we are in America. A campaign for President led by someone with the mentality of a sixth grader whose idea of debating issues consists of calling people names and referring to service members as “suckers and losers.” His supporters follow along with misrepresentations of Governor Walz’s twenty-four years of honorable service and are outraged by what they perceive as the immorality of making tampons available to those who need it,

Why is that? Would the tampons eliminate the evidence of virginity so important to their God and self-esteem? Heaven forbid their daughters are not virgins for marriage. What’s next, wedding night observers to certify the bride was “Virgo intacta”, an untouched maiden? (oops, I shouldn’t give them any ideas.)

Nowhere in the law does it mandate these products must be placed in the boys’ room. It say this,

Section 1. [121A.212] ACCESS TO MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS.

A school district or charter school must provide students with access to menstrual products at no charge. The products must be available to all menstruating students in restrooms regularly used by students in grades 4 to 12 according to a plan developed by the school district. For purposes of this section, “menstrual products” means pads, tampons, or other similar products used in connection with the menstrual cycle.

Yeah, well it doesn’t say not to put them in he boys’ room, does it?

Nope, it doesn’t. What it does is say is each school district or charter school must provide the products to students in grades 4-12. It recognizes the school districts and charter schools are the best ones to determine where to place the products.

(Not to mention in an emergency they might serve other purposes.) But I digress.

It recognizes the realities of life, something the MAGA Republicans would characterize as “woke” and every other human being would characterize as caring for those who cannot afford such necessary products or, and here’s the biggie, are transgendered.

Like it or not, sexual dysphoria is a real condition. It causes enormous stress and challenges to those affected by it. See, here’s the thing about science. Science doesn’t care if you believe in it or if some derivative religious doctrine says it is immoral. Science changes when it can be disproven. If it withstands those attempts to disprove it, it retains its validity.

That Governor Walz and the Minnesota legislature recognizes the need to offer support and assistance, without some misplaced moral judgment, is testimony to their character.

If that’s the best you have critical of the Governor, go for it.

But I think you should put a cork in it. Your narrowminded Victorian ignorance is showing. Here’s an idea, mind your own damn business.
