Preserving Democracy: President Biden’s Historic Responsibility and Decision

In the words of Petrach in Secretum, Sometimes even the best intentioned among us exhibit “a perverse and unhealthy delight in deceiving themselves.”

It has been a good run, Joe. When the history of the past eight years are written, you’ll be a hero for restoring America’s position as a world leader.

IF…

You recognize reality. You no longer have the stamina, drive, or physical reserves to serve as President.

IF…

You put the best interest of the country before any sense of self.

IF…

You recognize the imminent and existential threat that a Trump presidency guided by the philosophies of Project 2025 poses to democracy.

The American people deserve a choice other than dangerous uncertainty or self-immolation.

Joe Broadmeadow

IF…

You do the right thing, which is never the easy thing, and hand the baton to a new generation.

IF you do that, and Trump wins, it will be the American people who failed to see the man for what he is, a wannabe tyrant. It will be our failure to protect democracy.

IF you don’t and you lose, history won’t blame Trump for what follows, or us. They’ll blame you.

IF things were different, as many of us wish they were, we’d be reassured by four more years of a Biden administration.

But the reality is we are terrified by the prospect of a diminished President or an inarguably incompetent and corrupt one with delusions of a royalty unrestrained by the Constitution.

The American people deserve a choice other than uncertainty or self-immolation. The most solemn duty of a President is to leave the country to the next administration in better shape than when they took office. The last administration failed miserably, you have a chance to restore the tradition.

This moment in history is rare, live up to the words in your book, Promise Me, Dad.

“Dad. Look at me. Look at me, Dad. Remember, Dad. Home base, Dad. Home base.” What he was saying was: Remember who you are. Remember what matters. Stay true to your ideals. Be courageous.”
― Joe Biden, Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose

Do what’s right, President Biden, and cement your place among the great leaders of this country.

  1. Sorry you feel that way, President Biden has been leading the country for 3 1/2 years now all of a sudden he is not capable overnight? He beat the cretin before, he will beat him again. Changing horses in midstream is not in my makeup.

    • It is not just his age it is his overall health. He admits he tires easily and is not as sharp as he once was. The stakes are too high to allow sentiment to rule. Mr Biden is to be admired for what he has done, but it is time for him to step aside
