It has begun, the disingenuous denigration of the Judicial system by those who support Convicted Felon Donald J. Trump.
We should not celebrate anyone’s conviction. Such an occurrence merely holds people responsible for their actions. Our system includes safeguards to ensure the validity of the process. Convicted Felon Donald J. Trump had his day in court and the jury found him guilty of thirty-four counts.
The only thing to celebrate here is the reaffirmation that in our system, NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW. It is a testament to its fairness and equality.
But that isn’t the message from the MAGA-dimension.
Trump was convicted in a rigged system.
Trump was framed.
Trump is the victim.
Trump is the savior persecuted for trying to save the country.
It all about Trump.
MAGA- world claims the Trump Derangement Syndrome at work here. That the Democrats and Progressives so hate Convicted Felon Donald J. Trump as to circumvent the system to keep him from office.
They have one part correct. There is a Trump Derangement Syndrome at work here. But those suffering from it are confused. It is Convicted Felon Donald J. Trump supporters themselves that are infected by this syndrome.
Because Trump Derangement Syndrome is the blind embrace of willful ignorance of the truth by his supporters.
They claimed election fraud yet produced no evidence.
They claimed the case was orchestrated by Biden’s Justice Department yet produced no evidence.
They claimed the jury was rigged yet produced no evidence.
They claim there was no crime yet produced no evidence.
We are supposed to take them on faith in their contentions, absent a shred of evidence.
The party that would “lock people up” without trial, without charges, and without the protections of the Constitution because they disagree with their politics now claims the very same protections failed in this case.
In this MAGA-delusion, Convicted Felon Donald J. Trump is a victim to be celebrated, supported, and embraced. The mountain of evidence of his violations of the law, his support of an insurrection, and his willful disdain for the institutions that separate this country from many others is ignored.
November 5th will be a memorable day in this country’s history. It has the potential to be remembered as the reinforcement of the founders’ brilliance or as the beginning of the end of the United States as they envisioned.
In the last century another modern, educated country embraced a culture of irrational hatred based on lies that led to the Holocaust and a World War. Don’t believe for one second it can’t happen again.
Remember this on November 5th, millions of your fellow Americans still suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Putting the individual who started this plague back in office will be tantamount to the collective suicide of democracy.
Don’t let that happen.
