It is a truly horrendous reality that plagues our nation. It would seem the biggest threat to those who support an unrestricted right to bear arms are the very people who agree with them.
The government isn’t killing them. They are doing it very well to themselves.
The problem is, like a missile strike in Gaza that kills two terrorists, all the innocent collateral damage which they ignore in the furor of their blind irrational fear. Our missile strike has a name, the Second Amendment.
Here’s something to keep in mind. The founders of the United States enshrined these words in the Preamble to the Constitution…
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States…
Domestic tranquility is not found at the point of a gun and never will be.
The Second Amendment was an afterthought.
Somehow, I do not see how one can “insure domestic tranquility” when the act of going to a bowling alley or out for a beer at a local bar carries the very significant risk of having a bullet lodged in one’s brain. We have become a nation of sheep cowed not by a repressive government but by a minority who value their precious guns over human lives.
They are hardly a “well regulated” militia. They are the most violent gang in America and make us look like fools to the rest of the civilized world.
18 dead and we wring our hands, recite prayers that have never stopped one bullet, and wait for the next news report.
We do not have to fear the Chinese or the Russians. We will produce and distribute the weapons of our own demise…and pull the trigger ourselves.
